Bringing financial clarity, peace, and joy to individuals and families.

Helping people understand their situation and reach their goals.

  • Do you understand your finances? Does your spouse?

  • Do you wonder if you have enough and will be okay?

  • Are you retiring, changing jobs, experiencing a death or divorce, or going through another life event?

  • If you have an advisor, do they listen? Do they communicate well?

  • Have things changed with your advisor?

  • Does it feel like your advisor is trying to sell you something?

  • Do you have annuities or other investments you do not understand?

  • Does your advisor review your tax return, estate documents, and insurance documents?

Wealth Management

Thistle Wealth Management is an independent, fee-only fiduciary.

Investment management, personalized and integrated with your tax, estate, and insurance plan.

Helping you achieve or maintain financial independence and feel secure and fulfilled.

Fees:

Assets up to $1,000,000: 0.80%

Assets above $1,000,000, up to $10,000,000: 0.40%

Assets above $10,000,000: 0.20%

For $2 million under management, the fee would be:

$1 million x 0.80% + $1 million x 0.40% = $12,000/year

Traditional wealth management treats every aspect of financial planning separately.

A better approach is fully integrating your life into your plan.

Everything is within the context of your bigger picture.

FAQs

  • You should hire me if you want a dedicated advisor, ongoing financial advice and investment management, and proactive service.

My approach is to help optimize your situation each year by focusing on what has historically added the most value: a long-term investment outlook, proactive tax planning, and regular estate and insurance reviews.

  • I learned how to be an advisor at one of the top fee-only wealth management firms in the US. I worked with several other advisors, served on the investment team, and managed the portfolios of around 80 households each day.

Not all experience is created equal. I think my time spent at that firm is worth decades elsewhere.

  • As a solo advisor, I make sure that all relevant information regarding your finances is delivered promptly and clearly.

Client accounts are held at Charles Schwab and all clients have their own login. Thistle Wealth Management serves as the advisor.

If clients need help finding a backup advisor, Thistle Wealth Management will provide recommendations.

  • If someone chooses to hire Thistle Wealth Management, we mutually define their goals and make a plan to invest their money. These accounts are held at Charles Schwab and clients have full access to their money. We meet on your terms, typically two-to-four times per year.

If you no longer wish to be a client, there are no fees or penalties. You can choose to keep your accounts at Charles Schwab or move them elsewhere. If the money invested is held in a taxable brokerage account, there could potentially be tax consequences if the investments are sold.

Since management fees are paid in advance, unused management fees are refunded if you decide to no longer use Thistle Wealth Management as your advisor.

  • You should expect clear communication and a holistic view of your money. You should not expect frequent stock market updates, proprietary investments, or confusion.

Although you will receive quarterly performance reports, success should not be measured quarterly against a benchmark. Investment success should be measured over decades and financial success should be measured towards your unique goals.

  • Thistle Wealth Management charges quarterly management fees, in advance. This means a $1 million portfolio would pay 0.8%/4 each quarter.

Thistle Wealth Management is fee-only, meaning it only receives fees from its clients. There are no commissions or arrangements with third parties.
